Senior Associate, Reporting and Research

Blue Dot Capital is a sustainable investment consultancy. We serve as a strategic partner to investors and investment managers to support the development of ESG and impact investing capabilities across asset classes. 


Climate change and socio-economic inequity have necessitated fundamental changes in capital deployment and investment analysis. We work alongside executive, investment, and research teams of investment management firms to develop robust and adaptive ESG-integration approaches as well as create new strategies and solutions so that they can lead in this inevitable transition.


We are looking to hire a Senior Associate, Reporting and Research to support client engagements and develop internal research capabilities. This is a full-time position.


Position Summary



Client engagements 


  • Work with traditional and alternative investment management clients to support their ESG reporting and research projects

  • Develop analytical ESG frameworks informed by best practices to deliver best-in-class reporting frameworks for clients

  • Provide guidance to clients on integration of material ESG factors to enhance and adjust financial models and decision-making

  • Work with client teams to research and develop content for a variety of collaterals like thematic ESG reports, annual ESG reports, miscellaneous investor communications

  • Work with our communications and digital partner to deliver complete reporting services to clients

  • Work with clients to develop ESG reporting requirements like regulatory filings, SFDR, PRI, CDP, etc.

  • Ability to cut through the ESG noise and present rigorous, evidence-based, actionable recommendations to clients

  • Work collaboratively with our ESG tech partners 

  • Work with client teams to develop processes and ensure timely completion of thorough, high-quality deliverables 

  • Project manage multiple client projects with competing deadlines and deliverables

  • Over time, be an active member of new pitches 


Other responsibilities


  • Contribute towards developing Blue Dot’s internal content and insights library

  • Proactively read and follow ESG industry content to identify coverage gaps and present compelling content ideas

  • Be responsible for end to end development of short content projects: idea generation to final publishing

  • Serve as a Blue Dot ambassador 

  • Represent the firm at industry events 




  • Preferred experience - 3-6 years in: i) ESG integration and reporting at an investment management firm ii) client consultation role at an ESG data provider iii) client management role at a consulting firm engaging with financial services firms on their ESG program management, or iv) investor-focused ESG industry group 

  • Experience interfacing with external stakeholders is mandatory

  • Relevant graduate degree or self-driven learning track record in lieu of a graduate degree 

  • Blue Dot works in a very hands-on fashion with the leadership and investment teams of our clients to develop and deepen their ESG programs so we are seeking colleagues with the expertise and confidence to work with senior members of PE and traditional asset management firms 

  • Extremely thorough understanding of ESG topics, regulatory guidelines, standards, data solutions, etc.

  • Commitment to monitor rapidly evolving capital market expectations of ESG information and disclosures

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 

  • Ability to perform comprehensive research on a wide range of E,S, and G topics and present findings succinctly

  • Ability to work with multi-industry client team members with varying degrees of understanding of ESG

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ease with interpreting and communicating complex data; data visualization skills will be considered a plus

  • Ability to multitask

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and sense of humor

  • Authorized to work in the United States
